Faegre Baker Daniels is an international law firm with Midwestern roots and global reach. We serve clients regionally, nationally, and internationally by understanding their business, engaging in their industry, and comprehending their vision. We deliver excellence and value through a clients-first approach. With offices in the United States, United Kingdom and China, our more than 800 legal and consulting professionals provide the depth and breadth of expertise necessary to solve complex business challenges. With roots dating back to 1863, our firm is one of the 75 largest law firms headquartered in the U.S and celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 2013.
Recruiting and developing individuals from a broad variety of backgrounds and experiences makes our firm a great place to work. We invest in our talent through our levels-based Associate Career Model, helping law students develop into great lawyers. Our Associate Career Model offers two career paths: a partner track for associates with a goal of partnership and the full range of ownership responsibilities, and a counsel track for associates with alternative career goals focused on delivering exceptional quality and service to clients. Both career tracks require high quality performance and client service. Both tracks provide flexibility for reduced-time arrangements. The entire model provides flexibility to move between the paths depending on changing goals of a particular lawyer and the needs of his or her group. Each associate is supported through the career model by work opportunities, professional development programs, coaching and mentoring relationships and feedback. Entry level associates are placed in Level 1 of the partner track, are assigned to a practice within their range of interests and assume responsibility in the representation of our clients under the supervision of more senior lawyers. Through tailored training and programming, we focus on the development of specific competencies based upon level, practice skill development, understanding the business of operating a law firm, client service, marketing and business development.
We seek to offer our summer associates a similar firmwide experience, with a broad range of opportunities to learn about the practice of law, the firm and the communities in which our lawyers work and live. Each summer associate has a support team that provides a variety of challenging work assignments, as well as valuable "out-of-office" experiences and client contact. Summer associates receive detailed feedback on completed work, an interim evaluation session and a final review to measure progress. Along with rewarding legal work, we incorporate social events into the program to provide opportunities to meet Faegre Baker Daniels' attorneys and their families in both professional settings and at informal social gatherings.
The culture at Faegre Baker Daniels is built upon our core values of honesty and integrity, excellence, hard work, teamwork and collaboration, mutual respect, diversity and inclusion, and service to our communities. For more information, please visit our website: www.faegrebd.com
