Akin's well-being program, Be Well, is focused on holistic well-being and defines well-being as one’s physical, mental, financial and social or community health. The voluntary program uses a well-being assessment to help employees identify self-care strengths and challenges. Participants can create goals based on the assessment results. Those may include eating right, staying active, being mindful or better managing your finances. Through the program, participants are able to track progress, participate with colleagues and earn incentives for reaching goals. Spouses or domestic partners (if enrolled in a firm-sponsored medical plan) can join in.
All employees may participate in firm sponsored wellness training programs to help develop resilience and manage well-being. The firm also offers a weekly mindfulness meditation program as well as health and wellness coaching.
Through the firm’s Be Balanced program, all employees can schedule in-house appointments with an on-site behavioral assistance counselor. All appointments are confidential and facilitated through a third-party program provider at no cost.
